Drivers hoping to beat the traffic will be able to take advantage of Britain's first motorway car-share lane from today.
The £5.3m scheme will allow drivers to beat rush-hour queues if they are carrying at least one passenger.
It links the southbound M606 from Bradford to the eastbound M62 towards Leeds, by-passing a notoriously congested section where the two motorways merge.
